OUR SERVICES

We work with students as young as 5th grade, applying for middle school programs. However, typically students start in the second half of 7th grade, through college. Our high school interview coaching, college interview prep services, and first job interview coaching are designed for students at various stages - whether preparing for a new school, program, or opportunity. 

We specialize in interview prep coaching for students pursuing private school interview preparation, competitive summer program interview prep, internships or summer jobs, competitive summer programs and first job interview coaching. 

It is never good to wait until the last minute!  A month in advance is usually ideal, giving time for practice, confidence-building, and polishing. That said, even one session of interview etiquette coaching can make a real difference. 

Both packages are designed to include an in-person interview, while the Full Polish and Final Touch also include a virtual interview.  While many things are moving back to in-person, and we feel like this is where students really have room to improve, there are still a fair number of virtual interviews happening and we want students to be prepared to handle those with poise as well. It’s all part of our tailored approach to NYC interview coach services. 

Yes - each package includes varying levels of parent feedback. We provide useful recaps so families understand what was covered and what to work on next.

Students should think about the opportunity they are preparing for- be it a school, job, or program. The key to interview practice for teens is having them come ready to speak about personal interests, key accomplishments, and challenges they have overcome. It’s helpful to prepare responses about why they are interested in the opportunity and what they hope to gain - just as they would for the actual interview.

Prep & Poise is focused on the etiquette of the interview - how you hold yourself, eye contact, the handshake, wardrobe, and the overall professional etiquette for teens. These are the things that aren’t on paper but make a candidate stand out - for better or worse - and inform final decisions.  Because we’re not your child’s tutor or counselor, we’re coming in with a fresh set of eyes and ears, not truly knowing them (just like the interviewers).  Similarly, while we always make the child feel comfortable, we aren’t people with whom your child already has a relationship and level of comfort, which puts them in a different state of mind, just as they will be with the interviewer. It’s more than interview coaching for students- it’s student etiquette coaching rooted in authenticity and performance.
